After a busy morning playing in Calgary we arrived in Edmonton. We took a walk to the park and beach to play with cousins.
Mason loved playing in the sand
On the way home Mason got to walk this dog and he was probably the happiest boy on the planet
The next morning was a Keyes tradition: breakfast at IKEA (I know, super glamorous ;)
Grandma and Grandpa shook off the rust and fed Henry some baby food (for the record Dad, sausage is not appropriate for a 9 month old ;)
Some snuggles with Grandma Keyes
We got to meet Rosemary and Annaliese
Ben and Hayley joined in on the fun too
Getting to know each other
The kids enjoyed their ice cream cones at the end of the shopping trip
That evening we went to my parents' house and Mason showed off his coloring ability (look at that concentration)
Henry got to do some exploring
Lyza and Nixon loved the retro arcade game
3 generations of...
...Goobers!
Henry got some piano lessons from Hayley (or was Hayley getting lessons from Henry?)
I saw a blue jay in the backyard (we don't see blue jays in Post Falls)
Grandma and Henry bonding
story time with Grandpa
Henry got even more reading before bed with Sydney
We caught a beautiful sunset on the lake
Nutella bread for breakfast? Must be on vacation
Lyza enjoyed some new toys to play with
Wednesday the Konietzes invited us over for lunch. Little did we know that we also were going to learn how to make schnitzel!
So. Delicious!
The smiley girls enjoyed spending time together
Such a pretty smile
After a busy day getting some reading time with Uncle Wes
The next day we did a little shopping and Mason picked out his favorite hat
That afternoon we all went swimming and had so much fun (no pictures though)
After swimming was dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Keyes. Henry got to meet Auntie Hannah
On Friday morning we went to West Edmonton Mall. There was this silly area to take photos so we took photos
Checking out a toy store
Ice skating in the middle of a mall...so Canadian
A giant high heel shoe covered in fresh flowers, why not?
Our next car
Mason was obsessed with the fountains
The giant pirate ship
These ride on animals looked too fun to pass up
Their faces say it all
Kim took the boys up the escalator while Lyza and I stayed on lower ground
It got a little tense coming down in the glass elevator
What a cute bunch
We met up with David, Abby, Lewis, and Bronson for lunch
After that we caught the sea lion show and it was way more entertaining than I remember (it was possibly the first time I actually watched it all)
After the sea lions we went to the indoor petting zoo (I was shocked it was free considering it was in WEM)
Nixon and a hairy llama
Huge bunny
Lyza loved brushing all of the animals
Who pets a rooster?
Hannah being Hannah ;)
Bronson and Mason
We also had to check out the whale
Then it was off to the next adventure, skipping with Auntie Hannah
We played at the indoor playground in Galaxy Land
Where's Nixon?
Lyza and Bronson
What a smiley baby
After a busy day out and about it was time to come back and relax and get ready for bed by playing with toys
Kim, Henry, and I went to a rehearsal dinner and had lots of fun sitting across from Peter, Jane, and Rosemary
Henry had lots of fun with some lemon wedges
Saturday morning was the big day! Kim and I got to the temple early to get some footage before it got too busy
Ben and Hayley's wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful!
After the ceremony there was some waiting for the new pair
Waiting patiently
They look so good together!
This isn't a bad looking bunch either
What cute kids
Rachel and Annaliese
After the temple we went to the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens. Henry got to play in the back of the van while we had a quick bite to eat
Kim and 2/3 of her handsome boys
I got to snap a few pictures of Rosemary
Henry was also really interested in her
It was nice getting to see Sarah and Richard and their kids
Henry is so ridiculously good looking
Ben getting a little help from his big sister
What a handsome groom!
Kim and her wedding date
The boys got a cello lesson from Tivon
After the wedding the kids were OUT
We went to my parents for an outdoor meal and Henry got to meet Uncle Mike
What a busy and fun day. I don't even remember Nixon coming into bed with us but Kim memorialized it with a stealthy sleeping picture
All of our fun had to come to an end and it was time to head home. Nixon figured out a way to stretch out and put his feet up
The drive flew by with Henry at the wheel...
We had a great trip and it was so fun seeing family.
Congratulations Ben and Hayley! I can't wait to put together a video of the day...
Take care
