Priest Lake, Tourists in Our Own Town, and Playing on the Water

Lyza is so talented! After playing a piano duet in church she sang in a quartet the next week. We are so proud of her!

Lyza and Nixon worked together to make us a delicious dessert

Mason finished building his magical kingdom

The kids playing some games together

We left for our annual Priest Lake camping trip with friends a couple of weeks ago

Slight detour to pick up a chair and some life jackets that flew out of the truck <face palm>

We made it to our camp site

Right after we arrived we saw some mean looking clouds coming right for us and the thunder started. We worked quickly to set up the tent and canopy to get everything ready for the rain and the rain came in like a wrecking ball

Waiting out the rain

After about 45 minutes of rain we could get outside and the kids found some of their friends

Henry showed us around the forest and the fort in the forest

We decided to brighten up the campground by wrapping Lyza up with some fairy lights

Henry had a gourmet dinner of ramen

After roasting hot dogs we had some s'mores

Here is a view of the beach/lake early the next morning

The kids had fun sitting around and talking in the morning

Especially when they got hot chocolate

We made pancakes for breakfast

They played some games

After that it was off to the beach. We bought this inflatable for this trip and surprised the kids with it. They loved it.

The boys also had a blast digging a giant hole

Later in the afternoon we went to the store for ice cream

More digging

The kids had more s'mores that evening

The next morning some of us went for a hike. Henry came along and was my hiking buddy.

Lyza documented some digging wasps that she found

This was our hiking group (Henry took the photo)

Kim and his accomplices

We took the kids for ice cream after

Then it was time to go back for the beach and for the moms to try the inflatable

They all tried to stand up together but were unsuccessful

This is what it is really made for

Dads jumping off the dock

More digging

More games

We watched the Minecraft Movie on the beach for our last night

Henry helped get the fire going the next morning

Another pancake breakfast

Here is most of the group

Lyza found some kids to lead in camp songs

On our way home the road through Priest River was blocked off for a parade so we parked and got in on the action

We stopped in Rathdrum for some lunch at DQ

One day the following week Kim took the kids to Sherman Ave. to walk around and act like tourists. Mason was impressed with this giant Lindor at the candy store.

Nixon found some keys to play at the toy store

Look at those fun puppets

Mason got to crush a penny

And they all got ice cream

My adorable wife got an equally adorable mini cone

What cute tourists

Lyza got to go boating for a combined youth activity last week and I helped out

That same evening Kim took the boys to our beach and they invited some friends to come along. They loved playing on this thing.

We had the most gorgeous sunset that evening on the lake

That's all for now. Take care and enjoy the last couple weeks of summer!
