The first week of August we drove up to BC to visit friends at Tie Lake. The kids were excited to get some Smarties on the drive from Grandma and Grandpa Bullock
The weather forecast for the weekend did not look very promising so when we arrived and the weather was good we got right to work and got in the water
The silty lake bottom was very different from what we are used to
Nixon got to do some wakeboarding that first afternoon
Oh Henry!
Then it was time for some tubing
It was a beautiful afternoon and evening on the water
The kids eating some breakfast the next morning
The boys playing Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza with Jordan
It was really fun getting together with Paul, Dave, and Jordan
I am not sure when the last time was that all four of us have gotten together but the last photo I was able to find was from Jordan's wedding in 2008. That makes sense because Kim and I got married early that year, Jordan a few months later, then Dave later in the year.
It was a fun reunion!
The weather continued to cooperate so we got out on the boat again on day 2
Henry got to ride on the tube with Nixon
What a daredevil riding with no hands
Then he needed to warm up
Nixon also needed to warm up
Nixon has so much fun on the boat
Nixon got to do some wakeboarding again
Look at that air!
Kim got to enjoy some calm paddleboarding
After boating the kids all got in the hot tub
We made homemade fire oven pizzas for dinner
After dinner we played some outdoor games like darts
Sunday was very chill in the morning. We had church in Jaffray at 10 am. Later we went to Deah's parents' place. Lyza led some camp songs there.
Nixon built a fire with one match
We enjoyed the camp fire
Playing some games before bed
Henry got some late night mac and cheese
We played some Happy Salmon, which was REALLY FUN
The next morning the kids all got up early and found a movie while the adults got a little more sleep (we stayed up way to late in the hot tub)
Nixon and Westin paddleboarded a little
Then it was time for some kneeboarding
He and Westin decided that standing was more fun
Henry also got to kneeboard
Then it was Mason's turn to kneeboard with Nixon
After that Nixon got a final opportunity to get back on the wakeboard
He got more comfortable jumping the wake
We had such a fun trip!
Last week Nixon and I got to got to the instrument petting zoo at Charter where he could try all the instruments and choose which one he wants to play
The trumpet looked good on him ;)
He also tried the French horn
Trombone
Euphonium/baritone
He tried the violin and the viola
Alto sax
The flute
Percussion
Nixon did really well with (almost) everything he tried. He has decided to play the trumpet so our house is going to get a little more loud ;)
Kim took the boys mini golfing and they had lots of fun
Kim and I celebrated the first year of operation of River City Law by going to dinner at Cedars, the floating restaurant
The food was good but the company was even better
Last Saturday we took a family bike trip and these four all independently wore blue shirts
We rode from Chacolet campground to Harrison
This bridge is really cool
We saw this heron
Tearing up the trail
Lyza did really well on such a long bike ride (16 miles round trip)
Henry was also a rock star
We got ice cream halfway through in Harrison
We saw a turtle
And an eagle's nest on the bridge on the way back
That evening Lyza had a youth dance that was held in an airport hangar. Kim and I picked her up and I got to sneak a slow dance with her before we left.
Last Sunday we waked to the park and played a little kickball and gaga ball
Nixon bought a new retro handheld with his own money and he has really been enjoying the old games
That's all for now. Take care
