We got our family photos back and we are happy with the results
What have we been up to? A couple weekends ago we had the power go out on Saturday morning so we all packed up in the van and drove to Spokane Valley to do some shopping. We tried a new store, Five Blow, and each of the kids got to buy something
The next day while out on a Sunday afternoon walk we had a moose sighting
It stuck its tongue out at us
Walking over the railing like it was nothing
Here is Henry doing some exercising before school
On Wednesday of that week, Kim had to get to work early so I got to drive Lyza and Nixon to school. Just as we got out of our neighborhood we was a bull moose on the road walking toward us. This was the first time that we have seen a bull moose in our neighborhood.
Of course I pulled over and took some pictures and videos
I was wishing that I had my good camera and lens with me
I watched for the moose on the way home and didn't find him again. I got Mason and Henry out the door for the bus and then I grabbed my camera gear and drove around the neighborhood to see if I could find the moose again. Luckily I not only found that moose but I found another two with him
So I spent the next hour taking almost 400 photos and videos. Here are the best:
I called our neighbor Mick and told him about the moose so he could get some pictures
He ended out getting this one with me in it
It was so cool seeing out first bull moose in the 10 years we have lived in this neighborhood
Later on the way home from picking Lyza and Nixon up from school we saw the moose again
I then picked up Mason and Henry from the bus and drove them to look at the moose. We all got to see it (except for Kim). Kim did finally see the moose this weekend though!
The next day Nixon didn't have school so he and I got to hang out together and watch a different moose right outside of Mason and Henry's bedroom window eating our tree
The moose then went and ate from our moose bush
That night a baby moose and a larger moose slept on our front lawn for a while
The moose encounter outside of the window reminded us of our favorite moose encounter when the kids were younger and when Nixon was surprised to see that the moose had a bear, Lyza proudly proclaimed: "all mooses have a beard"
The next day Nixon and Kim attended Nixon's parent-teacher conference and Nixon got spoiled after with some fresh pastries
Enjoying some family scripture study
Last week on Saturday Kim was out running and someone she came across said that they had just seen the bull moose not too far away. She messaged me and I drove with the camera and zoom lens and went looking for it. When I found it, it was right on the edge of a park and a large private parcel. I watched it jump over the three rail fence and then walk through the private property.
I got a couple photos of it from the edge of the park
While I was watching the bull moose Kim was enjoying the beautiful view of the river
Nixon made us some delicious apple bread
Lyza rocking some new earrings
Nixon has helped Henry learn some ukulele
Check out what he has learned
Henry helped me make dinner this week. He loved cracking the eggs
Lyza had a "Friendsgiving" meal for her young women activity this week
Mason finished a very difficult lego project
Lyza has contact lenses now! And she got to wear this beautiful new dress to a school dance Friday night.
Kim and I took Nixon and Henry to a community college (North Idaho College) basketball game yesterday
It was a lot of fun
That's it for now, take care
