Welling, New York, and Moscow

We are all home and happy to be together!

 

Kim and Lyza couldn't bear the thought of being all alone in Moscow while I was in New York so they packed up the car and drove through winter's worst.

 

Of course Lyza needed some time to stop and shop during the long drive

 Lyza and Kim got lots of Love while they were in Welling

 Meanwhile, I was spending a whole lot of time on airplanes traveling to New York City!

I stayed at the Sheraton in Manhattan and arrived very late Thursday evening. Because of the change of time zone we weren't tired when we got there, so we walked around a little bit and this is what it is like in Manhattan at around 1 a.m.

Two of my classmates and I competed in the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition hosted by St. Johns University School of Law in Queens. There were 62 teams in the competition this year and, although our team did well. we did not advance past the preliminary round. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot and are ready to do even better next year.

There were lots of good places to eat. Here is me at Hard Rock and then an amazing corned beef sandwich from a deli near our hotel.

 This is the banquet after our competition. It was really nice and really fancy.

 New York was a lot of fun (probably not as fun as going to Welling) but I really missed my girls.

 Lyza has the most beautiful eyes. Here is a picture I took to try and capture their beauty (she has her Mom's eyes). The picture doesn't do them justice!

 Lyza loves to get into her Mom's purse/diaper bag and play with her wallet. So, Kim bought Lyza her very own wallet from the dollar store. She loves it.

 Her is Lyza sporting pig tails before church this morning. They didn't make it past her afternoon nap. She either ate them or threw them where she throws all of her socks.

The Keyes

February

Last weekend, Daniel went to Las Vegas with two of his class mates to compete in a bankruptcy moot court competition. They received second place! Here they are with BYU who placed first.

 While Daniel was in Vegas, Lyza and I went for lunch with the wives of the other 2 men who went with Daniel.

 This picture turned out a little dark but I think it is so funny. Lyza went and got a disposable metal tin from the cupboard, put it in the living room and sat in it while she read her book.

 The other morning, after Lyza finished eating her breakfast, she snatched the Ensign off the table and "read" through it for the next 15 minutes.

 This is how our living room looks pretty much all of the time. When Lyza reads her books she has to read ALL of them!

 I was excited last week when I had a little bit of time to my self to make a craft! It has been a long time since I have done any crafting. I made 2 of these, one for myself and one for a gift to take to BUNKO next week.

 And this is what it looks like on the other side.

 Today when I finished sweeping the floor Lyza decided that she needed a turn to sweep the floor too. She looked so cute. When she was done she made sure to grab the dust pan and sweep into that as well. She is going to be such a great little helper!

 This week Daniel is excited to go to New York for his national moot court competition and I am excited to go home and visit family! (wish me luck on the long drive by myself with Lyza!!!!)
