Recovering from a Fun Overload

The only way to recover from a busy reunion is to stay busy, and that is what we have done
The kids loved jumping on the trampoline with water balloons left over from the reunion
We tried out our new bike carrier and took the bikes to CDA. We rode along the river to the City park and beach area
 This was our view
We played at Fort Sherman playground for a while. The kids like this park because there are lots of pathways and little places to walk through or hide in

Mason had fun sliding with his mom
If anyone ever wondered if Mason was actually our child they would just need to watch him eat macaroni and cheese. Just like the other kids, he loves it (but maybe all kids are the same?)
I had a tough day at work the day after everyone left our house. I worked the morning, then went boating on the lake for the afternoon

While I was out boating Kim and the kids were at the beach. Doesn't Lyza look so cool in her goggles?
I did some tubing on the lake which was a bad idea, which I realized the next morning. It was also really uncomfortable because there were knots in the rope that kept sending a bunch of spray right into my face and eyes so I had to keep my eyes closed a bunch.
It was a pretty day to be on the lake

Meanwhile Mason was chasing the ducks

The time after the big kids go to bead and before Mason goes to bead can be really fun. Mason gets more attention and he usually acts pretty silly.
Telling Lyza that she can lick the whipped cream off the beaters before she was even had breakfast is like seeing her on Christmas morning
On Saturday morning we hiked Tubb's HIll. Nixon thought he could wear the grownup backpack. He wanted it off right away
Cool roots of a fallen tree
 Giddie-up
Lyza kept saying "this is pretty steep, right?"
We love the views of the lake

We hiked down to our favorite pebbly beach
Nixon usually likes the water the least of our kids but he was loving it this day
Lyza was having a blast "preparing for swimming lessons," which means she plugs her nose, holds her breath, and jumps in the water for a few seconds. She has gotten a lot more fearless.

This little boy loved exploring and putting everything in his mouth
He liked playing on this big wet rock until he slipped and fell face first into the water
 I love this one
This was the constant expression on Nixon's face while we were playing at the beach
We are always amazed at how clear the water is at this spot
 Me and my little dude
Mason looks so cure in his hat. He actually left it on pretty well
 My beautiful wife and I
These kids liked to climb the big rocks
When we got back to the park after our hike there was a big Idaho National Guard event with lots of fun activities and and free food
The kids got to play in this giant obstacle course
They also loved playing in these huge inflatable balls
Nixon thought it was the best

We also got to be really American and play with guns. The .50 caliber was pretty cool

That vehicle was pretty awesome. I offered to trade for it with our van. The officers there said it was tempting, but they didn't have authority to make that trade. Maybe next time.
Nixon is way too big for this backpack
 Love these two!
Our garden has been doing well and we made creamed vegetables for the first time this year (and the first time ever with our own garden vegetables)
 Mason LOVED the peas
When you are this cool you stand on the swing
Well, this was the three (3) days after the reunion ;)
I will eventually get this blog caught up
Take care
