Moose, Eagles, and Caramel Apples

Here is handsome Henry at church a couple weeks ago wearing the sweater that Nixon wore for Peter and Jane's wedding

Nixon asked me if I would read the Book of Mormon with him a couple of Sundays ago. It was such a nice experience.

Desperate times call for desperate measures...

Henry getting a moment to himself to play without Mason harassing him

We had another good moose sighting. I am no moose behavioral expert but I am pretty sure these two were snuggling

When the moose's breath shows it is very intimidating

The kids enjoyed watching from the window

This is one of the babies

And here is the mom. The garage door offers a good point of reference for comparison of their sizes

Just trotting along the street

Cars always slow down when they see the moose

The kids had a crazy hair day at school

Crazy kids

Henry enjoying a little bike ride on a chilly day

He is super cute when he paints

Some day we might see Mason's artwork hanging in a gallery

He was so excited to see this mail box at his friend's house where he did preschool. Now he has a place to put all of his mail. (He also made that paper bag all by himself)

The kids got to try out a new park this last week, which meant climbing new structures

And making music

We made caramel apples as a family. Here is a little video of the fun

The final product was delicious!

Henry got a new handsome haircut

The eagles are back!

They are here catching spawning kokanee salmon

Nixon and Lyza came with me and enjoyed exploring and watching the eagles

There were lots of eagles but they were mostly just sitting around looking pretty

The photographers were out in full force

The kids loved looking at all of the dead fish

I thought this view of washed up docks on the lake looked cool

It is really cool looking at the pictures of the eagles catching fish after because it all happens so fast it is hard to fully appreciate it in real time

Talk about a front row seat! I would be worried about getting my gear wet

Not sure how this one got away

I learned that these are the immature eagles that don't yet have the white head and tail feathers

I am glad to have these two who are interested in nature

#Merica

Five eagles in frame

While we were there the little boys were playing at the river

Mason was so excited to get his hands on this shipping paper and turn it into art

Henry was sad so his awesome big brother was consoling him

I am so impressed with Lyza's love for reading. This is something that she memorized from her favorite series, Wings of Fire

Take care
